4 Days tour to explore the Moroccan Sahara desert starts and ends at Marrakech. There will be a visit to the most well-known villages of the Sahara desert, and the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and Taourirt. The tour also includes a camel trekking experience, a night in Erg Chebbi camp at Merzouga, and delicious meals prepared by the local Berbers. Tour Itinerary:
DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY
Start your 4-day tour with Your Morocco Holidays in the morning. Our driver will meet you at Marrakech airport or your riad/hotel. Journey through the High Atlas mountains, reaching Ait Ben Haddou for lunch. Explore the UNESCO-listed Pasha Glaoui Kasbah, then visit Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas studios in Ouarzazate. Continue to Dades Valley, known as ‘Monkey Toes,’ for an overnight stay.
DAY 2: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, travel through Tinejdad and Tinghir to the river canyons of Todra Gorges. Stroll through the limestone canyons and enjoy the refreshing breeze. Explore Sahara desert villages, including Tinghir, Tinejdad, and Erfoud. Have Berber pizza for lunch before heading to the Merzouga desert for an overnight stay in a charming hotel.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – ERFOUD – ERG CHEBBI DUNES
Following breakfast, embark on a scenic ride through the Sahara desert villages and landscapes. Subsequently, explore the village of Gnaoua people, known as “Khamlia,” immersing yourself in their workplace, listening to their distinctive music. Continuing our adventure, we head to Erfoud, where a delectable Berber pizza lunch awaits. Post-lunch, transition from the 4×4 to a camel trek, leading us toward the camp of Erg Chebbi. An evening of enjoyment unfolds in the Berber yurts, promising a memorable night in the heart of the desert.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE – THE HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
You will be astonished by the beautiful view of the sun rising over the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will depart at an early hour to Merzouga Hotel to take a shower and get ready to get back to Marrakech. We will pass by Ouarzazate and the mountains of the High Atlas toward Marrakech.
